Out of the box school
 
The challenge is about bringing to common knowledge stories of schools around the world and learning from each others experience.
 

Schools that have managed to break out of the box

  

What  are "out of the box" schools? 

 

Schools that invest in understanding the changing needs of the future and develop education to suit the dynamic times we live in.
 
Schools which perceive the child as a unique individual with dynamic needs.
 
Schools that develop an environment of respect and care for children to grow in.
 
Schools that break out of standard measures and limited curriculum.
 
They can be small or large, urban or rural…
They can call themselves democratic, alternative, art-centered, technological or central high…
It doesn't matter, as long as their story is interesting and moving, and tells something new about that magnificent journey we are all addicted to: The journey to a better world.

An Important Announcement
 
Due to feedback we are getting about the "big dance challenge", we have decided to change the format into a lottery.

 

 

This is how it will work:
 
By February 1st you are invited to send:
  1. a few sentences about your school
  2. a link to your website
  3. a slideshow or a youtube link or both
 
Send to: ayalal@democratic.co.il 

 
One school will win a free flight ticket and admission by lottery.
The rest of the funds of the "big dance challenge" will be divided equally between all of the schools which send their stories and attend IDEC 2010.
